Semrush vs SERPstat
In this post we are going to compare two tools semrush and serpstat and see which one’s better compared to each.
SEMrush is a great tool that is not limited to keyword research and analysis alone. There are a few tools that help uncover backlinks, keywords and also ppc research.
Serpstat is a similar platform that holds on its own for competitor research and keyword research. However the powers are nowhere near SEMrush’s. You can also use other tools like Answerthepublic.
Is it easy to use
One of the forerunners that determines if a tool is going to be useful or not is the interface on which you conduct keyword research.
Semrush’s dashboard is difficult to understand primarily because there are so many features integrated into the platform.
Enter the domain or keyword or page address into the search bar and hit on search to get started.
You get a key view covering all key areas of the site. These key metrics mean the organic traffic on the site, backlinks number of them, keywords and ppc ads to name a few.
If you search for a keyword you get keyword analytics. You get the main keyword’s search data and a list of related relevant keywords.
If instead you checked a page instead of a domain, you get a report of the keywords the page ranks for along with the traffic those keywords bring.
Serpstat
Now that SEMrush is over let’s move over to Serpstat
Serpstat has an overall cleaner interface partly because of the fewer features on the site.
Start with the page that says list of projects.
To analyze a url or page enter the keyword or url into the search box and hit search.
With the drop down menu you have more options to customize your selection.
If you enter a domain you get its organic traffic positions and a list of top links to the site.
Serpstat makes it easy for anyone to understand the data with easy visualizations. You get keyword data, traffic trends and other things.
When you search for a keyword you get the search volume, related keywords, cpc and other things neatly organized into several tab.s

Both tools get you the data in seconds.
The SErpstat displays monthly search volumes, keyword difficuulty, and how competitive the keyword is.
It also shows a bunch of related keywords toyou.
The results are clean. You also get data on featured snippets and questions.
There are also keyword filter options. You can filter keywords by geolocation and choose from US ca aus or others.
To create a filter combine data items with conditions and specify values to them.
You can set keywords above a seach volume or difficult rating.

SEMrush

Use the keyword magic tool
When you want to do keyword research go to keyword analytics and then access the keyword magic tool. Enter a keyword and hit search.
With the keyword magic tool comes the questions tab.
With this tab, you get access to a rich trove of questions that people are asking. This way you can optimize your content with questions and make it more useful for people. You get to brainstorm topics and write more around them.
Use filters
Just like serpstat does, SEmrush too has a number of filters that you can use.
You can set up multiple conditions with the same filter and sort keywords by a number of metrics say keyword difficulty or search volumes.
Or you can organize them by match type say phrase match, related keywords or even broad match.
Which keyword difficulty is more accurate
Keyword difficulty is provided by a lot of different tools online. With these tools you’d need to be able to identify which keywords are actually low difficulty and which ones are high difficulty. This is only possible if the trackers are accurate. In most cases they are not.
SEmrush will get you a comparison of difficulty ratings of all the keywords you entered on it. You get the search volumes and traffic trend reports for each of them.
With seo tools like the above you can take a look at the overall domain statistics of a site.
